The Neolamprologus Brichardi, also known as the Lyretail Cichlid, is a stunning addition to any freshwater aquarium. With its elongated lyre-shaped tail and vibrant yellow and white coloration, this African cichlid is sure to stand out in any tank. This species is relatively easy to care for, thriving in water with a pH of 7.8-9.0 and a temperature range of 75-82°F. They prefer a sandy substrate and plenty of rockwork to provide hiding spots and territories. A well-maintained tank with regular water changes will ensure the health and longevity of these beautiful fish. In terms of temperament, the Neolamprologus Brichardi is known to be peaceful and can be kept with other non-aggressive species. However, they are territorial during breeding and may become more aggressive during this time. It's best to provide plenty of hiding spots and visual barriers to reduce potential conflict. This species is also a mouthbrooder, with the female carrying and protecting the eggs in her mouth until they hatch, making them an interesting and rewarding species to breed.
