Sicce's genuine Sponge Kit for the Aqua Filtra 10 and Aqua Filtra 20 hang-on-back filters (Sicce code SVA0024), with four replacement sponges per pack. Each cartridge takes one sponge, so the Aqua Filtra 10 uses one at a time and the Aqua Filtra 20, which holds two cartridges, uses two.

The sponge is the filter's first stage, a 20 ppi foam that traps debris and holds the beneficial bacteria for biological filtration. Replacing only a worn or clogged sponge keeps the rest of the cartridge media in use. Rinse sponges in tank water, not tap water, so the bacteria survive. These do not fit the Aqua Filtra 40. For freshwater or saltwater tanks.
